Welder/ Fabricator

Moraine, OH

Automation Systems & Design is currently seeking a Welder/ Fabricator to join our production team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components according to technical drawings, blueprints and specifications.

We are a full-service system provider for industrial automation . We provide in-house expertise in foundry robotics designing, building and programming specialty tools, controllers, finishing cells, one-off prototypes, and build out of turn-key systems.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training or welding certification (AWS or CWB) preferred
• 2-5 years of experience in fabrication and welding or a combination of training and hands-on experience
• Proficient in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques
• Skilled in reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools
• Strong understanding of metal properties and fabrication methods
• Ability to perform layout, fit-up and fabrication with minimal supervision
• Preferred experience with structural fabrication, machine frames or custom equipment
• Knowledge of CNC plasma cutting, press brake operation, or finishing processes
• Preferred forklift and overhead crane operation experience

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings to determine fabrication requirements
• Measure, cut, form, and assemble metal components using tools such as saws, grinders and brakes
• Perform MIG, TIG welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components
• Set up welding equipment and select appropriate materials, wire, and gas settings for each job
• Fit and tack components for final welding and ensure alignment and dimensional accuracy
• Inspect finished welds for quality, strength, and conformance to specifications
• Repair or modify existing metal structures, frames, and machinery as needed
• Maintain tools, welding equipment, and a clean, safe work area
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards
