Job summary:
The Used Car Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the pre-owned vehicle department to achieve sales targets, gross profit goals, and inventory management objectives while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and team performance.
Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the used car sales department, including sales, appraisals, inventory, and reconditioning processes.
• Set monthly and annual sales goals for the team and develop a plan to achieve them.
• Train and motivate used car sales consultants to meet performance standards.
• Appraise trade- ins accurately and competitively to maintain profitability and inventory turn.
• Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels and vehicle pricing to optimize profit and turnover.
• Develop and implement effective advertising and marketing strategies for pre-owned vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with all dealership policies, procedures and applicable laws.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings by resolving customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Work closely with the GM and F&I team to maximize sales and finance opportunities.
• Review and analyze sales data and department performance regularly to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years automotive sales management experience with at least 1 year managing a used car department preferred.
• Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and appraisal skills.
• Knowledge of used vehicle market trends, inventory management and reconditioning processes.
• Excellent communication, organization and customer service skills.

You must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, and be able to undergo a background check, drug test, and physical per NYS standards.

This role operates in a dealership setting, requiring frequent movement between departments, interaction with customers and staff and extended hours as needed, including Saturdays.
