Responsibilities

• Guarantee steel is produced safely, adhering to CMC's standards and punctual delivery
• Examine the furnace for potential issues (e.g., water leaks, refractory damage)
• Ensure effective slag foaming
• Adjust slag components based on analysis to achieve optimal chemistry
• Collaborate with teams managing melt shop equipment (caster, furnace, etc.)
• Keep open communication with colleagues and supervisors on production matters
• Identify and resolve issues using job expertise
• Manage inventory controls for operational necessities
• Support maintenance teams as needed
• Assist or substitute for supervisors when requested

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years in mill operations
• Proficiency in computer applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with reading roll and guide drawings
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays
• Experience with SAP / QMOS data entry
• Skilled in budgeting and minimizing operational costs (SAP)
• Efficient work scheduling through orders or delegation
• Endurance to work in high-temperature environments
• Capability to remain standing and active throughout a shift

Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
