Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Scheduler to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules to ensure optimal efficiency and output while meeting customer demands and maintaining quality standards. The Production Scheduler will work closely with production managers, supply chain, and other stakeholders to balance inventory levels, production capacity, and timelines effectively.

FOCUS:

  • Develop and maintain the production schedule for manufacturing operations, ensuring timely completion of products.
  • Analyze production capacities, inventory levels, and customer orders to create realistic and achievable scheduling goals.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and inventory management teams to ensure the availability of materials and resources required for production.
  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as necessary to address delays, changes in demand, or supply chain disruptions.
  • Generate reports and provide insights regarding production performance, resource utilization, and potential bottlenecks.
  • Utilize scheduling software and tools to optimize production workflow and enhance communication among team members.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address any issues related to production scheduling, including any unforeseen changes or adjustments.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling practices and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as a Production Scheduler or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain principles, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and a strong problem-solving ability.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Must be detailed, a self-starter and enjoy a challenging work environment.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • APICS certification or equivalent credentials in production and inventory management.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality assurance practices in a manufacturing setting.

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching all day with the ability to be mobile throughout required work areas. This position at times may be required to work inside a manufacturing environment as well as outside in various weather conditions which may expose the employee to varying climates.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be expected to be onsite in different manufacturing and outside environments with regular exposure to changing temperatures (hot, cold, humid), moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises. The noise level in the work environment can be loud; vibration levels are moderate.
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments as well as outside in varying temperatures is required.
