Job Description

My Little Team Texas, located at 15415 Applewhite Rd Ste 102 in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a floater to join our dedicated team of 18. We are looking for a candidate who possesses a current CDA, is self-motivated, ambitious, and dependable. Floater positions can be part-time and involve working as needed throughout the Center. Responsibilities include assisting teachers and teacher assistants in various classrooms, leading activities, supervising children, and ensuring a safe environment. Floater teachers also play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness by keeping classrooms and common areas tidy and organized for the children. Additionally, they serve as a bridge between different classrooms, sharing essential information about the children and facilitating smooth transitions throughout the day. It's important for the floater to obtain their CDA within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor children's indoor and outdoor activities at all times
  • Keep records of children's progress, routines and interests and relaying needed information to parents
  • Assist in preparing food and serving meals
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment
  • Create Lesson Plans and maintain a classroom schedule
  • Monitoring children during activities to ensure their safety, engagement, and well-being.
  • Stepping in to lead educational or recreational activities when needed, ensuring that they are age-appropriate and engaging.
  • Assisting in the transition of children between different activities or classrooms, ensuring a smooth and organized process
  • Acting as a liaison between classrooms, sharing important information about children's needs, behaviors, and progress with other staff members.
  • Being adaptable and ready to work in various roles across the center, filling in wherever assistance is needed most.
  • Engaging in professional development opportunities and training sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Developing positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, promoting a supportive and nurturing environment
  • Following all center policies and regulations, including health and safety protocols, and ensuring that all interactions with children are positive and constructive.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a child care setting is a must
  • Child Development Associates a plus
  • Ability to develop lesson plans that meet Texas Rising Star Standards
  • Classroom Management Skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift, bend and stand
  • Flexibility is a must
  • First Aid and CPR certified
  • 24 hour Pre-service training a must
  • 1 year of experience in working in a daycare
