About The Role
Imbue CTO and co-founder Josh Albrecht is hiring a Chief of Staff to help him scale. This is a high-trust, demanding, execution-focused role with huge growth potential. The focus is on business operations — building entirely new functions (ex: marketing), hiring, taking on special projects, and generally doing whatever it takes to make Imbue successful. This position is meant to become a long-term partnership — someone Josh can work with, learn from, and invest in for years to come. As one example, Josh still collaborates with his first Chief of Staff (Ali) from his previous company (Sourceress). Ali applied to that role cold, and now Josh, Kanjun, and Ali are co-GPs at Outset Capital, the small venture fund Ali leads full-time. Ali even helped write this job description!

About Us
Imbue's mission is to make "open" AI agents win over closed agents. To do that, we’re starting with making open coding agents, since they both make it easier to construct future agents, and we can use them ourselves.
Our first product, Sculptor, gives engineers the power to run and coordinate multiple coding agents in parallel, helping them move faster and stay in flow. We intend to make the source code available to both serve as an example of how to create open agents, and provide a tool that makes it easier for others to create open software. The insights we gain from building Sculptor help us both understand the interaction design and infrastructure necessary for creating open agents, and improve the capabilities of the underlying models.
Ultimately, we aim to rekindle the dream of the
personal computer, where computers become truly intelligent tools that empower us, giving us freedom, dignity, and agency to pursue the things we love.
What you’ll do
- Represent Josh in internal and external communications, meetings, and events
- Make things happen on timelines that others find absurd
- Hire for executive roles (ex: CMO, COO)
- Talk to and message potential users, candidates, and contributors
- Create new processes and tools to run the company more efficiently
- Organize events, building networks, and represent the company with developers
- Identify and contact high-profile new guests for our podcast Generally Intelligent
- Execute on special projects

- Compensation packages are highly variable based on a variety of factors. If your salary requirements fall outside of the stated range, we still encourage you to apply. The salary range for this role is $180,000–$275,000
